PIP Setup Instructions For

Microsoft Outlook Express 6With Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME & 2000

Select Tools from the menu at the top of the screen.

Select Accounts from the Tools Menu

The Internet Accounts” window will come up.

Click on the Mail” tab.

Click on the Add” button.

Select Mail”

An Internet Connection Wizard” screen will come up

In the Display Name” box put the name that you would like to appear in the “From” field when you send email. Example: John Smith

Click Next

The Internet Email Address” screen will come up.

In the E-mail Address:” box enter the email address provided to you by PIP.

Click Next

The E-mail Server Names:” screen comes up

Make sure that the top line reads “My incoming server is a POP3 server

Make sure the incoming and outgoing servers (the 2 white lines) are set to: mail.pipinternet.net

Click Next

The Internet Mail Logon” screen will appear (

In the Account Name box should be your username. Make sure it is correct.

In the “Password:” box enter your password provided to you by PIP

Make sure the Logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)” is unchecked.

Click Next

Click Finish

You’re almost done!

Back in the Internet Accounts” window select the mail.positech.net account

click “Properties”

In the mail.positech.net Properties windows click the Connections” tab (fig 1-8)

Check the box Always connect to this account using”

Select PIP as the connection in the drop down menu below the checkbox.

Click OK

Congratulations!

You have successfully set up your Outlook Express to send and receive your PIP mail.
